O&G reserves valuation is pretty specific. the models can get fairly involved and are pretty assumption heavy (based on geologist reports and the like). Sounds like a sell side advisor in asset sales, so probably selling land / equipment. May also do some project financing. If you're looking for more general M&A experience, this may be a little more specific than what your looking for, but it will definitely provide you with modeling and financing experience. If your interested in energy, the O&G upstream segment (exploration and production) is interesting and growing with US shale drilling / fracking. Look up some companies, find some initiating coverage research, read up on how they are valued, and go into the interview informed with good questions. The more you read, the better you'll come across, and you'll get a better idea if it's a good fit for you.
