What does the financial modeling and writing sample portion of an interview entail?
Hey guys, I have an interview where I will be given a financial modeling test and writing sample over email. Does anyone know what these tests typically cover? I only have an hour to complete each one so I imagine that I won't be creating anything from scratch and that it is probably a DCF analysis. As for the writing sample, I have talked to other people who said they took writing samples and they say it is typically compiling information about a company into a teaser . Does anyone else have any experience with this?

I did a modelling test for a BB IB position and I was provided with an ER report about a company, and a couple of questions to answer - they involved building rough DCF and LBO analyses. I had two hours. Not sure what yours will entail but guessing your hunch about a DCF is quite likely
