What happens to bonus if you lateral halfway through the year?
Title says it all, I am about to make the jump to a new firm, and want to know how that might affect my year end bonus? For context, I am moving to a top BB from a lower BB.
You don’t get paid. If money is on your mind, wait til you get your bonus paid, not announced and then jump ship.
Got it. OP here, that makes sense. I started applying to lateral as soon as my first year bonus hit but it took a few months. I was just curious if there is any precedent for the new bank to pay a full year bonus to lateral hires. Though your response was the the answer I expected
