What is Macquarie Green Investment Group

Know there has been some talk about it recently. Interested in the renewables space, anyone knows more about the grp? Is it project finance? Or is it kind of like private equity? How strong are they outside the US?

It sits under Macquarie Capital (not MIRA, their third party infra fund arm, although there is some overlap there in terms of mandates) and acts as an energy investor/developer. It's a fairly unconventional group as far as investment banks go; I can't think of any other bank going as far as deploying their balance sheet to actively develop projects but it's also combined with an aggressive sell-down/financial engineering component (really core to Macquarie DNA). This is based on experience with them in the offshore space outside the US although they are fairly opportunistic and dabble in other assets as well.

Thanks for this. How is the rep, culture, comp and exit for the grp. Is it considered a part of infra which they are so well known for?

Would you say its like a "buyside" role after college? Or similar to PE? Seems like they are the investor, taking equity/acquiring these renewables projects. Correct me if I'm wrong
