What is Your Bank's Dinner Allowance Policy?

Fellow primates - curious to see what the meal allowance is for banks in NYC and SF.

I've been told amounts ranging from $20 to $35 a night for weeknights, with $50-$75 on weekends. Please shed some light on this. No need to name specific banks, just need city, BB/MM/Boutique, and weekday/weekend allowance amounts.

Thanks in advance!

Most banks provide an "expense" not a per diem, difference being an expense you can use up to the amount, with a use it, or lose it mentality. Per diems are more of an allowance and you keep whatever. I don't know of any banks that do per diems, and only know a handful of consulting firms that do that.

I'm at a boutique MM and we don't have a set amount, more of a "best judgement" but generally hover around the $25 mark

No breakdown per meal- just expected to be reasonable and not exceed the $75/day limit. We are a pretty small group with our own P&L so none of us are jerks about it. When I'm with a group or at a meeting I go along with the crowd on the more expensive dinner (I just don't show that I split a bottle of wine but submitting the total receipt- not the itemized). Generally speaking- it I hit Starbucks up multiple times a day and had a $50 dinner every night it would raise some eyebrows but no one has ever said anything to me except not to exceed $75/day.

Like the unadjusted- only with a little bit extra.

thanks guys, i had been out of touch with WSO for the past few days and so had missed that post. i would also love to get an idea about the 2nd part of the survey (strength of employee professionals ordering delivery)... appreciate your responses!
