What offer should I take for a sophomore internship?

Hey guys,

I am a sophomore from a non-target school with prior work experience in finance at Pfizer. Next summer I would like to get into IBD. I do not know what the best internship opportunity would be for me. My choices are go back to Pfizer in New York, JP Morgan back office job in Newark, Delaware, Interpublic Group tax intern in New York or a boutique. Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks

For summer internships, the pecking order is generally:

BB IBD MM/boutique IBD (really these aren't too different from BB, I guess BB looks a bit better but still much closer than anything else on here) Related finance-type job or consulting Back-office

I'd strongly recommend avoiding the back office as it can be hard to escape from there and move up/out. Even tax would be better IMO. Pfizer is hard to say since I don't know what you'd be doing there. Corporate development? Sure, great. Marketing? Not as good.

But if the boutique is banking, that's definitely the best choice.
