I'm a senior in high school, and I am applying to colleges right now. I'm looking for a role in high finance or something prominent in the business world after college. I've lived in rural Kansas my whole life and would like to stay around the area. Also, with my academic success, I can get into a strong investment banking or high-finance target school.

There are no decent IBs left since Baum dissolved. Your best bet is to go work in another MW city (Chicago, Minny) and move back to KC for PE or family office, of which there are a couple decent shops.
Great Range raised a new fund and is looking more like a legit PE firm, CPC is an active family office, several mezz shops in the area.
