I was asked if I was working part time when leaving at 1:30am so there's always worse

Except I was paid more than any other analyst in my office both years

Do you seriously think you can generalise your experience and extend it to everyone else? Good for you if your team allows you to finish early - I probably would have stayed longer

that’s not the case for most people and certainly not for me where I had Directors still in the office at 1am. And this is the experience of most of my friends across BBs / EBs / MMs etc. you should probably consider yourself lucky and stick around a bit more

BB( JPM,MS,GS,UBS) Get in at 10am hungover pretend like im doing work for a couple hours. Open a pitch deck for a mandate we are never going to win. Leave at 5pm get drinks and dinner with mates talk about how great our pay is for how much work we put in. Also talk about how we are going to recruit for a MF even though have yet to work on a live deal and get any experience.

At a sweaty EB group cranking sponsor sellsides and currently living this. Constant 2am - 4am nights means I’m living with a headache at all times unless I’m caffeinated.
