What to do after the informational interview?

Title. Very often, I will be conducting informational interviews with people in firms of different sizes, different roles, different industries, and there will definitely be good chemistry and the call would go well. However, I always reach that point in the end where I ask if they have opportunities, to which they'll usually say yes or no. How do I get myself referred for those SA programs? Similarly, let's say I call someone in July and applications drop in September, what's the best way to approach a contact at the firm and to leverage my network?
