If you were an aspiring i-banker but had no other choices except these for junior SA, what would you do?
1.BO/MO role for 70K in BB (GS, JPM, MS)
2.Finance role - I am assuming BO? for 60K in well known Alternative investment fund/PE (i.e: KKR, Apollo, Blackstone)
3.Unpaid internship for IB at a boutique which good dealflow but not big ones (think Rutberg, Pharus, Trinity Capital etc)
- Do nothing except network and became a guru at valuations and financial modelling via classes and reading books?

3 hands down if you know theres dealflow
If you know #3 doesn't only tell you to fetch coffee and update data.... and do actual work with financials and pitchbooks then #3. I did a boutique IB once and didn't do much but fetch coffee and send mail. The little IB work I did that was relevant was take out cash flow statement numbers and put it into excel.Nothing much.
If not then #1 or #2.

3 hands down. Any experience and face time that you can get can always lead to FT opps. Also, you can put this on a resume, can't do that with 4.
