To those of you who have “leveled up” how did it work out for you? I’m at a firm with a decent-ish WLB, they pay street and my experience (resume) is pretty good and I like the people I work with. That being said a lot of lateral opportunities have presented themselves at higher ranked banks, but I’ve balked at them. Ignore title, I work in investment banking division

 

I think lateral moves are great if you are looking to a) change industry group (eg. from Industrials to consumer); b) change location (SF to NY or even from a different country to the US); or c) you like the job and industry but absolutely despise your team. Think the first 2 are very valid reasons, while the latter may not guarantee your new team will be better…
