Fire off the apps, the worst that happens is that they say no. Your GPA is on the low end for those firms, however a strong background in math is an asset and it is viewed as a rigorous degree. Apply wherever you're interested, don't be surprised at rejections and have a backup plan.
Definitely agree with the above. Fire off applications, and network w/ people there. There is no downside.
Just a heads up, though, Lincoln International and Baird are very anal about their 3.5 min GPA requirements, no matter the school. They'll take a 3.5 non-target candidate over a 3.2 Ross kid, all else equal.
Harris Williams will interview 3.0-3.2 applicants, as will Macquarie. Can't comment on the others.
with those many internships which seem legit, you have a good shot at BBs and MMs. Don't limit yourself by thinking your GPA is everything. Once u have an interview, GPA means JACK.
New to WSO, but I think that you should stick to wanting to be in the client facing roles. Your math background is priceless. If you go to a school like you mentioned, such as UVA/UMICH etc. than your on-campus recruiting should get you a good client facing role.
Expand outside of IB. Your math could go a long way in Fixed Income research or anything on the trading floor.
