Sellside recruiting in London is RNG to a significant degree tbh
I had “zero reliability” according to the assessment. 😂
So not surprised I got rejected.
I had a BoD/exec level referral and didn’t even get a human interview, lmao.
Auto-rejected.

Interesting, for Advisory SA, I did the test and HV, got well aligned and high score and stuff and have not heard back since. Not been rejected but its legit been 7 weeks so 99% I'm just dinged. Recruiting was so random this year.
It was for advisory FT for me.
But yeah, they typically have totally no news while ACs are going on and auto-rejections when HR updates it at the end.
Personality assessments are just psychological though. It's just a filter for candidates to feel like they messed up so they don't expect to get selected.

Even in the US, they have semi-screwed up recruiting.
They take HYP student athletes on one hand and Canadian non-target DEI candidates right alongside them.
I also remember hearing they have DEI support teams within the bank, like absolutely insane. People getting paid to do stupid shit at an investment bank.

Apparently it’s a scoring system for both assessments and Hirevue (video scored by one of the recruiters) for being called for AC.
“Well, it said don’t use a calculator but many people probably used a calculator that would speed things up.”
Recruiter: “Why would a calculator affect your score? It shouldn’t make a difference.”
And if you remember the test , it was a short time with many questions.
“Do you know what kind of questions are in the personality assessment?”
Recruiter: “No, I haven’t looked through the questions.”
Pretty much summed it up for me.
Baffles my mind how recruiters with no qualifications or even understanding of the job get to decide on who get interviews in fields like investment banking.
