When do BBs and other firms ask for transcripts?
I am a sophomore at a top target right now recruiting for IB. Before anyone says anything, yes I am considering fudging my gpa. After my second semester of college, I believe I can get my gpa up to a 3.7. Right now, its lower. I can get it up to a 3.6 after my first semester of sophomore year. Before anyone tells me its not worth it, please just be honest and tell me if firms ask before interviews or once they extend the offer.
For context, I had personal/family things going on my freshman year so my gpa was trash first semester. I know that I would be being dishonest, but I know I am a smart person and I'm truly just trying to put my best foot forward, though I know its not right. I worked so hard and I really just dont want my first semester of college to be the reason why I dont get a good offer and ruin my life.
PLEASE be honest. I know that SA apps will mainly be releasing in Jan, so I just want to see if I can get away with this since I know I would get a 3.7 by May. Or if I should just put the 3.6 and if you think that is fine. Please let me know.
You can put whatever you want on resume. Its not verified until after you get the offer. Firm will hire a 3P to do a background check. In my experience that wont happen until months after offer - my background check for BB IB MBA ASO position was in february so you can technically put 3.7 and try to up your gpa to round to that. there is risk that they withdraw ur offer if there is a discrepancy. Doubt they would do it for a 0.1 point of gpa discrepancy but 0.2 might be pushing it. The bigger the discrepancy the more risk
if gpa changes after u get ur offer, would that be ok?
95%+ chance you will be fine
