When to quit IB analyst position? (Staffing q's)

Hello! Recently was notified that the background check was completed by the outsourced company. The company at which I am taking a new position still has to do a few internal company admin items / determine a start date (hopefully starting mid Apr / May).

From HR, seems like that could take ~2 wks max. My question is, should I put in my notice now or wait for a start date from HR? I'm on a few live deals that are starting to ramp end of this week / beginning of next week, so I'm a bit concerned about the whole handover process after notifying my staffer / best time to do it, especially since they'll need to be re-staffed (guessing better to do that before they totally blow up).

Do not do anything until your start date is ironed out. You're not important. I don't mean this in the mean way, more in the you're replaceable way. Your current team will figure it out. If the roles were ever reversed, your current company's HR wouldn't think twice to screw you.

Also, I rarely see people put in two whole weeks in IB; at most I see one week, but many many people quit the same day.

Good luck in the new role!
