Which is the best option for eventually transitioning to IB?

So I have two offers from big 4, one from audit and one from M&A tax.I eventually want to go into investment banking and was wondering if I should take the audit role and then TAS/FDD or take the M&A tax offer and then do an MBA.

Does the big 4 have an M&A group? Have seen people move into surprisingly top banks from Deloitte M&A, could be something you lateral into from either of those roles.

Otherwise I would probably take M&A tax and set up for MBA - with that role you have a story going about why you're interested in M&A and you will still learn a bit about deals.

You can lateral from these roles but you might have to make like 2 more stops (internal role closer to deals, small tiny boutique IB, try to get MM or BB) so MBA saves you some time and all of that jumping around
