Which of KeyBanc's offices / groups are good?
I know Cleveland is respectable. How are the SF / Seattle / Portland / Boston tech groups? Of Key's different offices / groups, which ones stand out for being especially strong (or especially weak)?

A guy I know that works there told me the guy that runs tech in Boston left recently and they have had their tech deal flow overall dry up.
Boston is/was not a big part of the tech group. Honestly, group-specific info about MM banks is very sketchy on this forum. Key tech is in line if not stronger than HL, Baird, Piper, HW. Key is legit 2nd tier book runner on tech IPOs alongside the lower BBs. M&A is solid, but Blair and Jefferies are the stronger MM groups.
Which office is best / worst for tech? They have tech groups in like 6 different cities
Hw tech is definitely stronger in m&a than key
Cleveland Industrials and Cleveland M&A are the strong groups at Key. Cain Brothers (SF & NY) very strong in MM healthcare. Tech isn't anything to write home about.
+1 This. Cain Brothers is the real deal if you like non-Life Science Healthcare.
Has got to be one of the best places for MM healthcare to work on the street for modeling/experience. Life science healthcare kind of sucks because 80% of the deals are IPOs or follow-ons of pre revenue biotechs. Healthcare services is where it’s at for sponsor exposure and Cain kills it in this space.
If you're a good performer during SA at one of Key's strong groups (not Cain Bros), what would reasonable lateral opportunities for FT be?
Have seen a few go from SA at Key to other MM banks, probably gonna be tougher to go to BB/EB but if you network and interview, anything can happen
Their Seattle & Portland offices are ex-Pacific Crest Securities right?
Yes this is correct.
Was PCS any good? Briefly looked and it seems like their Portland office is mainly ECM/DCM
I'm from Seattle - the office is Tech M&A. I know a director recently left about 1 year ago.
You know anything else about the office? Could I PM you?
I hope J.B. is doing well at his new place.
Any info on the Charlotte office?
small: only have 1 intern in IB this year, fintech - source: I work there
You interned there? Good experience?
