Which offer should I take?

Incoming sophomore recruiting for IB SA 2028. I have two offers for sophomore summer: PWM at a MM bank in Chicago or an Internship at a $28B AUM sovereign wealth fund in a small MENA country. My goal is NY investment banking recruiting. Which would be the stronger option and why?

Was in a similar position and recruited with a MENA SWF internship, albeit larger (QIA/Mubadala/ADQ). Would say it really depends on which SWF specifically, but in almost all cases I would go with the SWF.

if is a large enough name that is consistently acting as a minority investor on global/us deals (Mumtalakat and larger probably), many bankers will be willing to get on the phone with you and show interest in your SWF exp. it helped significantly during buyside SA recruiting as well, as it is a lot more unique and directly applicable to have SWF experience as against PWM
