Who are the heroes of banking?
I'm just curious, outside of Gordon Gekko, who do guys on Wall Street look up to?
Mitt Romney? Bloomberg?

Career Resources
First off, Gordon Gekko is a fictional character.
Personally, Jamie Dimon. No one else can take a $6B loss like a boss, except maybe Kerviel.
David Einhorn, boss status and only 44 right now. Started the HF at like 28...
Of the 5 names, you guys just rambled off, not one of them was an investment banker.
Since he said Mitt Romney, figured I would ignore the banker comment even though Einhorn was at one time.
Einhorn started off in banking (DLJ) but I get what you're saying.
J.P. Morgan
He is obviously trolling... Not your best work, OP, but keep trying...

Altman for people currently banking. Maybe Wasserstein from the glory days. They both built businesses in addition to doing client advisory.
Historically, Felix Rohatyn deserves a strong mention.
More recently, I think people have to give some major props to Frank Quattrone.
Others off the top of my head: Moelis, Perella, Wasserstein
Bingo
I'm biased because he's a alum of my high school and was in my old man's graduating class. The chapter about Quattrone in The Accidental Investment Banker is a good read.
There are some great people to learn from, people with heroic stories like Wasserstein or Altman. But, to be honest, role-model-worthy "heroes" who I'd actually "look up to?" Few and far between, at least these days. Still searching for Sidney Weinberg.
BTbanker. He has spent 30 weeks in IBD.
There are no heroes in banking. Working 100 hours per week for a yearly comp of what soros pulls in in a day is not cool. Gekko is a hf manager not a banker.
Maybe Wasserstein.
Dick Fuld, Joe Gregory, & Erin Callan
