Why do MM banks take forever to respond
So I came out empty-handed from FT BB recruiting. I've interviewed with a handful of MM and smaller boutique banks, and they take forever to get back to me. A couple places took 2-3 weeks to call me back after a first round interview and I still haven't heard from some final round interviews. Am I being put on hold while they interview other candidates or do smaller banks just have a thinner HR staff? Anyone actually hear some good news after waiting a few weeks?
Smaller companies often take a little longer because they have smaller HR departments. In addition, they may have extended offers to other candidates who have not accepted yet if they're still looking for better opportunities. So if it has been several weeks, you might be on waitlist. Don't lose hope until they actually reject you though. Good luck man.
.
You are probably on the waitlist, if you were a top candidate you'd be called faster. Don't worry though... who cares if you get called first or last as long as you get called. Keep hope alive.
You are waitlisted or they have no/little HR.
Ok, thanks a lot for the responses.
