Why NYC?

Why do most bankers work/want to work in NYC? Aside from the obvious answers such as: financial hub, most spots available, wide variety of groups etc.

My friends in NYC are paying more for their single bedroom split rent than I am for my entire townhouse. Plus seen a lot of ppl complaining about everything getting more expensive.

NYC is cool but why spend so much to stay there? Not hating but I’m just curious, plan on going up there for a trip in August.

Cheers,

Also hope all my SA’s out there are doing good and not getting slaughtered
