Will GHL/PWP/Moelis Move?
With Wells Fargo moving to 110 base first year, seems like this is the new street average. Even with 2022 shaping up to be a tough year, will boutiques such as PWP/GHL/Moelis move above street again?

PJT,EVR and CVP all pay 120 base. I expect Moelis and PWP will Match it either in the summer or during the next recruiting cycle. As for Greenhill, I think they need to focus on making sure they can pay their rent…
Thanks, also was wondering if Moelis and PWP just stand still since the bonus is often high anyway. But both of them having same base as banks like WF is a bit odd.
They most likely won't bump now as both are done with sa recruiting. I would look out for this summer or next fall/winter before sa 24 kicks off.
What about Laz and Gugg?
My roommate is an A2A at Lazard. Historically they don’t really pay outsized comp the way Moelis,CVP,PWP and Evercore usually do. Pandemic being the exception. As for Gugg, they pay a great bonus but I don’t think they benchmark themselves to the firms I listed above. Besides, I don’t see a good reason why anyone would take Gugg over the firms listed even if comp was the same.
Thx for info. Wonder why Laz is like that. Have heard recent years that Gugg comp is ~same as those names mentioned. Agreed wouldn’t take them compared to other 6 (not GHL)
I thought gugg actually paid slightly above those firms (except for CVP and maybe PJT).
Do you mind sharing some associate comp figures from 2021 if you know any hard datapoints?

I’m just shocked that PWP has not bumped to 120 yet. It has been months.
Find it surprising as well. And they had a good 2021 and have less heads to feed than other EBs. Wonder if they just find it unnecessary since bonuses are often generous and not a shop that buckets significantly.
I really don’t like the big bonuses as an excuse. The other 120s have big bonuses too but have a higher base.
Firm is cheap
