LatAm should be more feasible to recruit for FT if you also speak Spanish I'm assuming. I think targeting a niche is the way to go since I did sort of the same thing recruiting for FT and like you I did not summer in IB, or near banking at all for that matter – was in FP&A at a F500 my junior summer.
