Based on the most helpful WSO content, there isn't specific information about Rothschild India's work culture or deal flow in the provided context. However, there is some general insight into Indian banking roles at US/European banks operating in India. These roles often involve a mix of outsourced pitch/valuation work, with front office roles being limited and typically supported by a small team of senior professionals and analysts.

For a comparison to other Indian banks, it is noted that Indian banks often operate as one cohesive team handling various functions like M&A, fund-raising, and capital syndication, without distinct division groups. This might differ from Rothschild's global culture, which emphasizes self-responsibility and flexibility, as seen in other regions.

If you're looking for more specific details about Rothschild India, it might be worth reaching out to professionals currently working there or exploring recent discussions on platforms like WSO.

Mate, Rothschild India has a well-deserved reputation for having the WORST culture that a junior banker (analysts particularly) would have to face in India IB. Good Luck. By all accounts expect to deal with horrible people who will make you feel sub-human. Highly unprofessional conduct among senior bankers is the norm, worst part is that they aren't even that good at the job + quality of learning is questionable at best. All this for an 11 month contract (not even a track role).

Makes sense that they have stopped hiring 'high potential + pedigree' individuals at a junior level. Not to discount the folks there ATM, but a key factor behind hiring analysts is actually a 'can I treat this person like shit and get away with it' filter which many 'pedigreed + good on paper' folks will absolutely not deal with.

Only silver lining is that its possibly the only remaining IB that hires non-MBA/non-CA folks as analysts where there is a chance of a decent exit. Arguably the only place outside of Avendus that headhunters like MP and Native do not put in the 'Automatic Writeoff, don't engage' pile, though there has been a noticeable change for the worse here as well in the past 1-2 yrs.

You'll get the interview, but, converting is on you, you will struggle to convert any decent fund AND will be overindexed on the Rothschild brand name to convert the role as opposed to your actual skillset.
