Dear Analysts: What is your prediction of the salary of doctors over the next 50 years. I foolishy pray that I will receive atleast 1 response in the sea of flaming that is to come.

Decrease as the supply increases in the near term. Further decrease as their education is funded and they are paid by the government.

Hold up, you are telling me that being paid for by the government increases one's salary? I thought it just forces it towards the mean salary? And I thought with the government lowering the bar for physicians pay that would drive it down in all sectors right?

Okay but I meant in the US. So far being a doctor has been getting a bit less lucrative, will this downward trend continue for US doctors or will, even if healthcare being more and more socialized, will the salary of US doctor's be one of the highest.

It's been my conjecture that the increasing public nature of healthcare has been raising costs across the board because unlike individuals, the doctors and pharma can just charge the government whatever they want and be greeted with a blank check. And since healthcare is subsidized, demand doesn't decrease as price increases.
