1 or 2 page resume?
My school forces us to use 1 page maximum for our resume to get internships. Do you think this is right?

Absolutely. I would not deviate from this guideline at all, especially when sending resumes to IBs.
What if you are an exerienced hire? I saw a 2-page mckinsey resume.
I am sure there will be many cases of exception to this rule. But the OP has written that he/she'd be applying for internships.
If you've got 5-10 years experience at the executive level, that merits a change from the norm of 1 page resumes.
Anyone that is internship hunting should never exhaust more than one page, at that level you need to condense, change font, or possibly remove less important items if you cannot reach the 1 page limit.
Totally right if you are still in school (unless you're in MBA and you have at least 5 years of amazing experience as a manager).
If you do 2 pages you will get dinged during interviews.
If you're a boss you can have two pages. Also include a photo on top so they know you mean business.
fyi I was at an IBD interview and this one person had a two page resume. The associate I was interviewing with thought the resume was mine and was giving me shit for it...but after I showed it wasn't mine, the associate said they'd give shit to the other person. So...there you go, 1 page or get shitted on.
ONE PAGE for sure. Junior year I blew this and had a joke of an interview. All that matters as an undergrad is school, GPA, internship and a few things that show an interest in the market.
One page. Live by it (until you're an MD or Aleksey Vayner)
One page.
for finance, make it one man
A VP i met once told me if they can fit their resume on one page, so can any of undergrads like us lol
It is better to always keep everything within a page, Recruiters rarely spend more than 20secs on an undergraduate resume.
There's one rule in applying to jobs/internships while in undergrad---> 1 Page Resume
To echo what everyone else is saying, unless you've got a wealth of FULL TIME experience and have some more senior experience as well, keep your resume to one page. I stress full time, because I have been asked about 2 pages since people might have a few internships and volunteer positions they want to address in full detail - DON'T. Keep it to 1 page and focus on that which is most relevant to IB - leave the rest out if you are out of room. Also, you can feel free to leave out the Objective section, the Summary section and so forth often found at the tops of the resumes. With a 1 page resume, you do not need a summary section - it is already a summary. And you do not need an objective section - if you are applying for an IB position, that should be your objective.
The reason I am asking is because I am going to have 4 internships by the time I graduate. There's no way I can fit all four on my resume.. They are all from legit firms. I understand I'm not going to get an IBD position but I'm trying my best to get into a trading position and it's hard to omit any of the internships
Then adjust the margins and the font size to get them on one page.
2 pages will get thrown out at this stage....ask any recruiter
yeah, you can definitely fit four internships on to a page, especially if you're not putting on extra-curriculars or lots of extra stuff.
Take off extra curriculars that are less important and you shouldn't have a problem, even with 4 internships
In Australia I think 2 pages is the standard.
