Hey monkeys, I'm a first year at a top Canadian school (not Ivey or Queen's). I got an summer internship offer from a tech company. This company asks me if I want to start in May or in July.

I don't think it will make a huge difference when someone sees your resume. 10 weeks is typical, so 2 months isn't that far off. However, it may increase your ability to speak about your experience with specific examples. It's tough to know how much it will matter, since it's certainly possible for someone to get a better experience in two months than another in four, even at the same firm. I'm also not sure how much benefit you get from a few extra credits the summer after your first year. Taking one extra class during the fall/springs semesters could make up for that and should be cheaper.
