3yrs in CB > IB(but not a popular field) is it meaningful?

I am 27 years old and graduated from a prestigious university in Asia and working in Australia.

Currently, Iam working as a Relationship Manager in a big branch of CIB Products(mostly about CB) in a Tier 2 bank.

Last year, I got an internal transfer offer from the aviation finance products team at IBD. As you know, it is very a niche field, but I chose it because I thought it is the only way to enter IBD in the headquarters office. (I made a huge mistake when I graduate)

It was so grateful but, after that, HR said that the relocation will be in April. I had this offer in August so I am waiting for almost one year. My plan was to move to another IBD after I can get a half-year experience in the new department, but THE RELOCATION TAKES SO MUCH TIME THAN I EXPECTED.

here are my questions.

  1. although it is a very not popular field, should I wait for the relocation? I know that it is almost impossible to go to IBD from a branch

  2. If I wait for the relocation, and I can have appropriate work experience with good modeling skills, is this possible to move to another IBD during this summer-autumn season? if it is not possible, I will move to the multi-assets field(because some firms are reaching out to me)

please let me know how do you think. I need some advice.
