About the major and the future recuiter. In banking and consulting specifically

What kind of academic background will help you to get a job in banking or consulting? Business? Math? Econ? or the combinations? If not a major, will related courses help you though?

Plus, what do recuiters value when recuiting people? Academic background? Experiences? or anything else?

We know it's hard for international students when seeking jobs here in the states, any suggestions?

Thx for your time~
