Admitted to LBS MFA, what now?

Hi guys,

Thanks for all the support from this forum, as I just received offer from LBS MFA recently. I will be joining the school this fall and have a clear goal in joining IB at London or Hong Kong. I had corporate banking and S&T intern experience but no IB related at all.

Most of the SA IB program in Hong Kong are closed now, so I was wondering what I should do before joining LBS. Would like to seek some advice on this matter, thanks!

Congrats on your offer. As I am also intending to apply for LBS, was wondering what your GMAT score is?

About your question, SA IB is likely closed everywhere (also in other countries). You can try to get into other finance internships or go for SA IB at boutiques. Otherwise you can just enjoy your free time.

Congrats  on your offer! As suggested by another user, try to secure an internship in a related field if possible. The MFA (as I'm sure you know), gives you the opportunity to apply for summers (SA'23 in your case). You can start preparing for this. For that, in addition to an internship for Summer 2022,   I would suggest  you take this time to brush-up your skills (excel modelling, technical) and generally padding-up your CV. As you get closer to the recruiting cycle for SA'23, you should be in a good position to secure some solid gigs. Networking closer to the start of the SA'23 cycle would also be beneficial.

Do shoot me a message should you wish to discuss further!
