Advice for an idiot, put yourself in my shoes
Slacked off through college, 3.0 gpa with finance degree from random state school. Got internship at pwm company through my uncle, took a sales job right out of college because my girlfriend worked in hr at the company. Currently, I'm a financial advisor at a large firm and will more than likely be let go soon for failure to hit my quota as I don't know very many wealthy people and suck at cold-calling. Feel free to berate me, I'm well aware of the mistakes I've made. It unfortunately took some recent personal tragedies and hardships for me to pull my head out of my ass and realize I have so much work to do just to make up for lost time. My question is, because of my past, am I doomed to be stuck in sales my whole life? I honestly don't want to be rich and don't need to be highly successful, I'm just looking for a stable career that I can put the work in everyday and don't have to rely on commission or worry about where my next paycheck is coming from.
