Advice In search of IB Analyst Role

Hi all,

I've been on the search for a role within IB for a bit over a year now - I know... not exactly the most attractive time to crack the industry. But this is something I've been interested in for quite some time and finally have the opportunity to follow my passion.

I come from a background within Automotive (Large Tier-1 supplier) for 7 years, roughly 5.5 in engineering, 1.5 in account management. During some my time in automotive, I worked in national commercial real estate investments, and it drove my love for transaction and client based work in a professional environment.

Since this time, I've acquired 12 certificates from the Corporate Finance Institute and worked 5 months at an investment bank/financial services firm on the FP&A (Strategy Consulting) team. With little opportunity to convert to banking from consulting, I know it's time for me to pursue my passion full-time.

If you have any advice, know anybody looking to hire at an analyst level, or can think of the best ways to break into this industry, that would be a tremendous help. I am very hungry to learn, master and get my reps in within IB. I've worked 70+ hours and traveled around 40%+ plenty and have no problem with the hours, I just want to put those hours into a job I want to pursue long term.

Thank you in advance for your insight and help!
