Advice needed - Full time job hunting after BB summer experience

Hello WSO,

A little background about myself: senior in college, non target school, past summer I was at a BB in their Sales & Trading program, no offer.

GPA: 3.6.
Major: Applied Mathematics
Past internship experience: BB, Mutual Fund, VC
Programming skills: Java, C++, Python, VBA
Leadership: started first Algo trading club, Student run fund, awards, etc

I am currently looking for full time jobs in Trading, Algo Trading, Asset Management, investment research, etc. The problem is that there are no official programs from full time recruiting, especially for trading/investing roles. Any advice how to break in? How to find open positions (indeed and the likes have nothing)? Any advice would be great!

Please help!

Can't remember the firms name but a place is Austin, TX is looking for S&T guys. I would recommend a Google search for some of the firms there and start applying wish I could be of more help just can't remember the firms name.

The only one I know who is based in austin is SMB capital. It is a second tier shop though and they require capital contribution. I am looking more for hedge funds, top tier shops, sell side research, etc. A position that will lead to money management roles.

Don't stop chasing your dreams but I would also consider casting a wider net given the current situation.

Apply to the Chicago prop shops. A lot of reputable and top notch market makers. Optiver, Belvedere, Wolverine, and Jump. NYC has DE Shaw and Jane Street. Interviews are brutal but since you have a programming and mathematics background, you should do all right.
