Advice needed - struggling at target
WSO members,
I am currently super stressed as im realizing that my job prospects are a lot worse than I thought. I did almost no work throughout high school and magically got into a target, with a career in finance in mind. Having basically done the minimum required work in AP and honors classes throughout high school I struggled a lot in my first two semesters, and ended up with a 2.9/4. I am currently a sophomore and sort of have my shit together and am expecting to end with a cumulative 3.1, 3.3 at best.
I have a tiny bit of previous job experience but could not find anything to do this past summer. I applied to 30+ internships with only 3 responses, all rejections. I did not include my GPA in my resume. I am now in a foreign country and am struggling to find available positions, let alone getting responses and offers. I will be returning to the US next semester.
I have only just started to put a lot of effort into networking. I got accepted as a undergrad research assistant but as soon as the professor got my GPA they rescinded the offer. The constant rejections are discouraging and I am at a complete loss as what to do. So far my plan is:
1. network
2. study
Does anyone have any additional advice for someone in a situation like mine?
