Advice on getting out of retail

Hi all,

First post here so bear with me. I recently graduated from a top target and I’m currently a retail banker at a BB which is pretty much just a teller with a fancy title. I settled for retail because there aren’t any entry-level openings in areas of interest in my small city. I’m planning on taking the CFA Level I in May and I was wondering if I should be doing anything else to break out of retail. I am primarily interested in private banking and other buy-side positions. Any advice would be much appreciated!
