Advice sophomore internship

Hello,

For context I'm a nontarget rising sophomore nondiversity FGLI graduating spring 2027 with a 3.9 GPA. Got lucky with a leadership role at school investment fund. Am I allowed to apply for internships looking for 2026 grads or diversity? Planning on going to do a remote search fund this fall. Trying to find regional/small boutiques in Atlanta or literally anywhere for the summer. Found a few on google map by typing "investment". Also any tips on networking? Open to any opportunities in finance anywhere in the US but everywhere is just so competitive and the recruiting timelines for high finance are crazy. Saved money from summer part time and would literally fly back and forth across the US for internship/in person networking rn. Would appreciate the help!
