Advice: Told Return Offer Rates Will Be Down

Am SA interning in CIB (corporate banking). About 8/10 weeks through the internship. Have been told by several at the bank that return offers will be down versus previous years due to recent low attrition. In the spring, I networked with about 15-20 bankers at various shops for 2024 FT recruitment (rising senior), mostly M&A boutiques and mid-tier MM. In the case I don't convert this summer, would now be a good time to reconnect with them as FT recruitment kicks off soon? I understand FT recruitment will be very competitive this year - this is why I mostly targeted M&A boutiques and mid-tier MM. Any advice welcomed.

Earlier the better. Connecting after (god forbid) you don't receive a return makes it seem like you're only choosing them as you have nothing else.
