Alumnus Answered, Then Ignored

I messaged a high school alumnus who works in IB on LinkedIn:

Me: (Introduce myself and ask for career advice)

Alumnus: "I actually do [remember you]! It would take quite a while to type, so lets get on a call for a quick chat.
Best,
Alumnus"

Me: (Explain why a mobile-to-mobile call is not possible, only Skype) (We live in different countries)

Alumnus: "Ah, well to not overcomplicate things...(explains how to get into banking)

Give me a quick run down on your circumstances so I can taylor what I say a bit more. What you study, where etc."

Me: (Give him a run down on my circumstances)...

..."I actually applied to Bank's internship yesterday. Bank has long attracted me for its x, y, and z. I am hoping to get accepted into its internship program to gain firsthand exposure to Investment Banking and Bank's businesses."

Alumnus: Read

Why I think he hasn't replied:

  1. My "run down" was 200 words long, maybe he didn't bother reading it. My circumstances are irregular, so I had some explaining to do.

  2. I applied to the internship he advised me to apply to before he mentioned it. After I mentioned to him that I applied to the internship, he thought he's done helping me.

How should I proceed? My goal is for him to push my resume to HR.

Wait a couple days then follow up? Alumni dont always respond and arent always willing to meet or speak with current students. Ive had an alumni schedule 4-5 phone calls AFTER i was referred by someone who he worked with for 2 years and blow off every single one of them. He then stated we should meet in person, proceeded to ignore three more of my messages over a month span. Alumni can be shitty sometimes.
