Alverez & Marsal UK Good or Bad?
Hi everyone, I know they are expanding very rapidly. Would you say working for A&M over Big 4 is a logical move straight out of university in the UK?

Which department big 4 + what do you want to do after/long term
I guess I’m still considering options although I have an offer for strategy in Big 4.
The A&M guys that I have come across are all sharp and easy to get on with although YMMV. As you said they are growing quite quickly and getting a stronger reputation in the mid market.
Important to note though, I've heard that the standard and consistency of training for juniors isn't as good as B4 given they have decades of funnelling grads through the hopper. Qualifications (ACA/ACCA) is a given with the B4 but I'm not certain how A&M stand on that but equally how important you view getting qualified. If you are looking to get into corp. finance and eventually make the move to PE I would recommend going down the qualification route regardless.
Hard to say which would be better starting out of uni unless you had an idea which team/function you would be joining.
Interesting. So I guess for corporate finance big 4 would be a better choice. How about - let’s say strategy consulting vs rx consulting. Do you happen to know how that would have an impact in the longer term? (Exit opps, comp, career progression)
Can't speak for rx I'm afraid.
For strategy consulting I would take EYP or Strategy& over A&M all day - better lateral opportunities to MBB, exits to PE etc.
Don't know enough about B4 and A&M management consulting to opine if that is what you were aiming at.
Without a doubt for RX, not even close. Not seen them doing much M&A yet but they did just start the team this year. Know much better comp than B4, but higher expectation/standard so may be longer hours.
Do you have any information about the exit opportunities? Would you be able to go into RX Banking after? Would you be able to go into well regarded PE funds?
