Am I devaluing my internship by being generous
So this is a bit of a strange question- I am at the end of a Winter Analyst stint at a regional boutique and my MD has opened the door for me to refer a couple of interns for a Summer Analyst role. I am headed to a top US MSF and have become friends with a few of the students from the incoming class- would opening this opportunity to others in the same class as me serve to harm me, because we will likely have overlap when applying for full time roles once the program starts?
Would really appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.
I would personally never refer anyone to this extent whom I have not personally worked with (whether in class or on the job) - you just met these guys and if they don't perform well, it will reflect negatively on you
Yep, this is true. I got a bit eager/excited thinking I could help out others right away, but I guess it is important for me to make sure I have my own bases covered before I start extending to others.
