Am I fucked?
I have accepted an offer for a very good non-IBD internship but I failed a class this year (found out after accepting the offer).
I go to a non-target and my GPA last year (1st year) was a 4.0.
Will this be an issue with my background check?
Will they pull my offer?
What is your GPA now? As long as you didn't lie about it you're fine.
Hopefully your GPA didn't tank too much, but honestly places rarely check GPA and as long as it was correct when you interviewed you are all good
Thanks for your reply. It will probably go down to a 3.3 but I don't go to university in the US so its a different situation (here minimum GPA when recruiting is 3.1).
I didn't lie regarding my grades last year, I got pretty good ones. I was wondering if I could just send my grades for last year (the ones that were in my Resume) for the background check.
No you have to send up to date grades for your background check. Again though, it would be rare for companies to ask for your transcript.
Also as long as you are above the minimum GPA (which is why I asked) you are 10000% fine. No one will ask about it even if they do ask for your transcript.
Junior level help is needed so badly I don’t think anyone gives a shit about gpa, unless it’s like 2.15 or something
