Am I making a good choice on school and major?

I am going to enter Wesleyan University to major in Mathematics or Economics, and after my graduation I will apply a Master of Science in Financial Mathematics. Is it a good path to enter investment banks, or at least finance industry? What is the prospect of income in the future?
