Am I on the right path?

Hello guys,
I am heading into my final year (undergrad) soon. Considering my background (I have been reading books and articles about the Investment Banking industry for some time), I know it would be extremely difficult for me to get an analyst position upon graduation. So I am preparing hard for the GMAT exam, and plan to apply for a Master's degree (such as a MSc in Finance program) at a "target school". Is it a right choice?
I am not talking about MBA, because that is after years of experience...I just would like to ask, for us non-target students, does a good Master's degree help a lot to break into the industry? I read a lot about "Analyst positions for undergraduates, and Associate positions for MBAs", but very few talked about MSFs. Can anyone answer it?
Thank you!
