AM Product Strategy/Management to Tech Product Management

I have been working in variety of product strategy, structuring, development & management roles across EMEA, CayBer & APAC hedge funds, mutual funds & ETFs for the last eight years and have been thinking about applying for tech/fintech product manager roles, given the (seemingly) transferable skillset.

Has anyone made a similar move, or more generally a move from an AM role to a Tech Product Manager role and if so, is there any advice you would give? And what has your career path looked like since you made the move?

My main concerns are:

- How the work of a product manager would evolve over time (i.e. I do not want to end up stagnating after a couple of years/once I have mastered a particular business line)

- Whether compensation tends to plateau earlier in a Tech PM role than it does than in a Product Strategy role in asset management (i.e. lower upside over the long-term)

Based in the UK.
