Are there any fellow Hokies out there that know of job openings or people I can talk to to move in the right direction? I just graduated and want to get into S&T, or IB. Either way I would be happy. I'm just trying to broaden my network of people b/c i literally know no one on Wall Street.

yea im on LinkedIn, but no one seems to talk on there. just seeing if any are on WSO.
Linkedin is worthless unless you know the person beforehand. The random friend requests of desperate job/internship seekers are ignored. Most people don't understand networking, it is making meaningful relationships with individuals, not meeting random folks and beseeching them for a job. Use the friends of friends approach, ask if any of your friends have friends on the street. Utilize your family. Cold call.
Dude, I don't know whats wrong with you, but I will add alumni all the time. I have had wonderful success talking to people. You are a friggin alumni, not some stranger. Just don't be creepy about it.
I tend to disagree, this is hardly the best way to go about networking. When I want to network I go to the country club or call friends in the industry. That's more efficient. He really should try cold calling, no one is impressed when some clicks the friend button.
