Any hope left to pursue IB?
Hey all,
A few months ago, I was accepted to HEC MiM and Bocconi's MSc Finance. I ultimately decided to go with the latter. Unfortunately, I was forced to leave Italy last week due to an error made by the consulate general (long story). I was very much looking forward to attending Bocconi and breaking into some sort of IB analyst role in London, but that might not ever happen now. Although, there is the possibility of re-applying to Bocconi next year and attending.
Anyway, I majored in biology in undergrad from a T-21 school in the US and public health from an Ivy. As you might have already figured, breaking into IB from a non-finance background is very challenging some might even say impossible. If you were in my position, how would you try to get an analyst position at a boutique or middle market firm? Should I send snail mail to MDs with a copy of my resume and cover letter? Should I give up hope of pursuing IB?
Thanks in advance!
