Any tips on how to improve myself to get into IB in the London? (from england)

(i rushed this so punctuation and grammar may not be correct) I have;

-A levels- ABB-Family lost house during final exams, no money for food ect luckily manchester still let me in given my situation!

-1st in Bsc Economics @ Manchester specialising in Econometrics & Mathematical Economics with Financial Economics. Got some high grades like 90% in modules in final year and did well in finance modules.

-in september i will be doing Msc Financial Economics at manchester. Got a partial scholarship because i got a 1st in undergrad and cant afford anywhere else. Im expecting to do really well.

-Did the standard thing of joining finance societies and attending events for Citi, GS, BP, Barclays ect and other things

  • Did an internship at a boutique investment bank in london, mainly researching things

-thinking of playing football for uni to add a little something (and i enjoy it)

-Almost got a 8 month internship at a mid market m&a in manchester. Day before the final interview they told me i was the only candidate they wanted but they had to withdraw the role. Dont know why but they genuinely apologised.

-Had a phone interview with HSBC obviously messed feel down about it but im reflecting what i could have done better.

-just like everyone else i have really good excel skills ect and can do financials in it

-i dont think my cover letter and cv were doing me justice. I think my cover letters were too long and CV filled with too much. so gonna change that

any advice would be helpful?

thank you
