I have an AC for Barcap IBD London next week, and I'm trying to do my research as thoroughly as possible. However, I do not actually know anyone in Barcap except for a friend of mine who's already been offered an SA position. So, if there is anyone that actually works there or has worked there, I would really appreciate any comments on the culture and the likes at the office. I know about Diamond's "no jerk" policy and that Barcap supposedly has a somewhat friendlier atmosphere than American peers. Can anyone confirm this? I don't think anyone on here will actually own up to working at bank x or y. There is too much risk (I know, sad) of their comments getting to HR.
But I know some people at BarCap in London (DCM), and the culture there is very British, i.e. professional. They'll treat you cordially but will still work you like a horse. I actually know guys who've done internships at the likes of GS and JPM and then chose to go to BarCap because they feel they'll be treated better there. So I guess that speaks great volume about the culture.
