Applying to MFE - How to justify IT work experience ?

Hi,

I am working in the IT department of a BB, and will be applying to MFE programs for next year. Since most MFE programs conduct an interview before admission, I was wondering how people (who are applying to MFE from an IT position) justify why they took up an IT job in the 1st place.

In my case, I did not get a front-office job, so had to accept the IT position. I think it is the same for a lot of ppl. But in an MFE interview, I cant say "I did not get a front-office position, so I accepted the IT job".

So how can I give it a positive "spin" ?
