Are headhunters required or just make life easier?
I understand headhunters have the relationship at PE shops and will put your name out there; they keep your interest in mind and will get you in the door while you are working yada yada… I am wondering if it necessary to sacrifice that much of your salary for a headhunter. I get it’s the reality of the industry, but man their fees are steep.
Aren't they paid by their clients i.e. the PE shops?
No, typically they take 20-30% of your first year salary.
Edit: Understood, thanks for the correction.
How can you confidently be so wrong? Do you really think people who got PE offers without HH are getting paid 30% more? The intern was right here
I’m simply speaking from my experience. I guess I found bad shops? I stated my experience, seems I’ve touched a nerve.
Headhunters are mandated by their client and get a commission based on that, not you. If they are asking you then you are being scammed.
